     I know you are wondering, how are exponents helpful in real life. Well have you ever bought a lot of something like jackets? Say that you bought 5 jackets and each were $4.00, that would be like 4 to the 5th power. Now to find out how much you would have to pay you just multiply. Now when you go to the cash register she would put those numbers in the computer and it would multiply for her. 
     Another way exponents are helpfulis when you have money. Say you have 2o dollars but they are in 5 dollar bills, how many 5 dollar bills do you have? Well you should have 4.
