We all may need surgery one day, by special doctors. These doctors are called surgeons. I have realized that their job is really hard, and I have a much stronger respect for them now. Why?, because when I dissected a frog it was actually really challenging. That is what made me realized that surgeons have tough jobs. They have to make sure they are in the right part of the body, and they dont damage anything.
I know a frog dissection help me learn all this? But it is true. Those doctors are really smart and they do not get grossed out easily. I would faint if i saw someones internal organs, but they dont. This is why I have a much stronger respect for surgeons. They deserve much respect from anyone.
I really did not learn anything about my animal. I didn't, because my animal was not at the zoo. There were other ducks, but my duck wasn't there.I did learn about other cool animals though.
I learned about the adaptions of flamingos and how they help them. I also learned about what keeps a sea lion warmer, their fur or their blubber. ( the answer is their blubber). I also learned about many interesting birds in the bird show, like how an owl can hear it's prey from up to a mile away.
The zoo wasn't just educational, it was also very fun. My group was a little weird though. These two boys decided to give each other piggy back rides, and everything was fine until they fell into the railing. It was hilarious.

Why would I find a warm temperature fossil in Antarctica? I could find one, because of Pangea. When all of the continents were together they all had some of the same plants and animals. So ,maybe Antarctica had a plant that was in Brazil then Antarctica would have a warm fossil.
That is the reason why I think you would be able to find a warm temperature fossil in a cold climate. It is not impossible. There are probably many other reasons why you would be able to find a warm fossil in a cold climate, but this idea makes sense to me.
My part in the animal research was to give facts all about the classification. I had to fill in all of the boxes. Well lucky for me it was pretty easy. We are doing our research on the Laysan Duck. I thought this animal was very interesting.
Some of my group members wanted to do the research on a snake, but we agreed on the duck. It had way more facts that we could use. I think it was good for everyone. This project so far, has been fun.
I think the greatest scientific discovery is the discovery of DNA. I think this because without knowing about DNA we wouldn't know if we had diseases or who was our family. We also wouldn't be able to solve crimes without knowing about DNA. Life would be pretty tough without the knowledge of DNA.
DNA can help us determine who committed a crime. Murderers and robbers leave a lot of helpful clues to solving a case just by a strand of their hair or their fingerprints. By using these important pieces of evidence we would be able to solve a crime.
DNA also helps if you are trying to see if you have a disease. You go to the doctor so the doctor can test your blood. Blood has your DNA. So by testing the blood you would find if you had a disease in your DNA.
We use DNA to also see who we are related to. You could take DNA tests to see if your DNA matches the other person's. That is How you could us DNA to find your relatives.
DNA is a very useful thing.
Quizlet was really fun to use. It helped learn my vocabulary words really well. I like how they have games you can play with your vocabulary words. That also help learn.
I don't think we should do something else, because this is a fun and easy way to learn the vocabulary words. A lot of my friends are on quizlet studying for their test. They always get good grades on their test so Quizlet must be helping them learn. That is why we should stick with Quizlet.
When there is overpopulation it means that more compettition over food. And sometime there will not be enough food for all of the animals. So, I think overpopulation can cause evolution, because the animals will have to change how they adapt. They might have to find different ways to find food.
When this happens they start to change and become more like other ones.
That is what evolution is, when animals start to change and become more like other animals. This process happens over time. So, I am pretty sure that it would take thousands of years for animals to evolve.
In science class a couple of days ago we made a paper pet family. We got this blank printer paper and glued monster looking cutouts onto it. The cutuouts had all of their genotypes and phenotypes on the back. What are genotypes and phenotypes?
Well genotypes are the the traits you get from each parent for a certain characteristic. Say you have wavy hair, well wavy hair is a dominant trait ,so you genotype is either Ww or WW. Also if you have straight hair then that is a recessive trait and your genotype is ww. Your phenotype is what you physically look like. I don't get these two words mixed up because phenotype and physical have ph in the front of them, and genes and genotype have gen in front of them.
This project helped me understand more about genotypes and phenotypes. I know about dominant traits and recessive traits. I also understand genotypic ratios and phenotypic ratios. This was a fun way to learn about genes instead of just reading the textbook.
These are the instructions on how to make your own DNA ornament. First you should get your materials, which are wire, and beads. Next, you put the beads in the middle of the wire. Then you take one end of the wire and put it through two beads on the other side. Now you pull both ends of the wire until you get a loop. Next you do those to steps 11 more times.
Now you take the ends of the wire, and run it through the white and colored beads. After you have done that bring down the reamining wire and tie it at the bottom. Now you have an ornament or whatever you want to make it. I chose to put it on my christmas tree. It looked really nice with all of the lights shining on it.
